  • Frank Damrosch was born Franz Heino Damrosch in Breslau, the son of Leopold Damrosch. A choral conductor, composer, and educator, he founded the Musical Art Society of New York and the Institute of Musical Art which became affiliated with the Juilliard School of Music.
