"Les planches ... ont été encrées à la poupée et tirées en couleurs, épreuves sans retouches, sur les presses en taille-douce de Alfred Porcabeuf"--Colophon. Comprise full-page col. frontispiece and 19 col. ill. printed as headpieces to pages of text; and a double suite containing each print in a pure etched state printed in dark brown, and in a finished colored state with a remarque printed in b&w or monochrome. The remarques (image ca. 4 x 4 cm.) are also frequently present in pure etched state. Suite also includes 2 other proof states of the frontispiece and 1 other proof state of ill. on p. [22].
