Having fixed his residence in Philadelphia, he adopted the doctrine of the Quakers. Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division has three copies of this pamphlet. Copy 1 in Sc Rare 326.1-B (accession no. G80523) is a gift; added to the collection (July 11, 1935), according to G.K. Halls, v. 1, page 848, column 3, row 2; during Catherine A. Latimer & Arthur A. Schomburg's times as collection librarian & curator. It includes NYPL's perforated stamp and the "Schomburg Collection" stamp. Imperfect: disbound, incomplete, lacking pages 15-16. The pamphlet is currently encased in mylar and housed in a commercially made 4-flap archival binder.
Copy 2 in Sc Rare 326.1-B (accession no. E002116) is a (December 22, 1942-- G.K. Halls, v . 1, page 848, column 3, row 3) addition to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer and Lawrence Reddick were the Collection Librarian & Curator. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," NYPL's perforated stamp, and the "Star" stamp. Imperfect: bound in red cloth over boards, library binding, and gilt spine.
Copy in Sc Rare C 15-59 (Lapidus Collection) is part of the Lapidus Collection donated in 2015. It is inscribed: in ink on the title page, with manuscript correction of "1748" to "1758" in the title. Imperfect: unbound, currently encased in mylar and housed in an acid-free envelope.
