Views of statues and monuments in Washington, D.C.: includes views of the Washington monument, including constuction scenes showing cranes and scaffolding; one from water's edge shows wooden buildings at base; stone cutting shed nearby; views of the complete monument include views from across the Potomac; from the executive office building showng the Bureau of Printing and Engraving; from the Bureau of Printing and Engraving; the statue of Jackson (Mills) in Lafayette Park, some views include cannons and a distant view of the White House, and some views of the statue are from the White House grounds; the equestrian statue of Washington (Mills), Greenough's statue of Washington in the Capitol grounds; statue of Gen. Greene (H.K. Brown); Crawford's statue of Liberty or "the Genius of American"; statue of Gen. Thomas (Ward); statue of Gen. Scott (Brown); the Naval or Peace monument (Simmons).
