Craver's house in ruins, soldiers among remains of Dr. Grewell's house; Mr. Smoke's house; Mr. Clark's house, nothing much left but stairs, carpet still attached; Mr. Carhart's cellar with barrels and other debris; Pres. McGoun's house; Central Iowa railroad train on its side next to the tracks; Mr. Sander's cellar where the family took refuge; college bell surrounded by rubble; remains of a buggy; Dr. Chamberlain's house, including a rear view.
