Views of Cambridge, Massachusetts: homes, including a house on Broadway with trees on street, arbor in yard; the birthplace and residence of James Russell Lowell; birthplace of Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes; the house used by Washington as his headquarters at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, later owned by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who is pictured on the porch of the house in one view, includes interior views; the Washington Elm, where Washington accepted his commission as Commander of the American Army including decorated arch for centennial; Soldiers monument on the Commons in Cambridge where troops formed to march to Bunker Hill; two women in small office, window full of plants: "office of Sophie Baldwin, proofreader"; Harvard University: general view, Harvard square showing university book store and other businesses, and a church; buildings including the Astronomical observatory, Appleton Chapel, Boylston Hall, Gore Hall, Harvard Hall, Harvard Library, Holworthy Hall, the law library, Memorial hall including interior views of the dining hall, one showing African American waiters; Museum of Comparative Zoology; a view of men on steps of a buidling, one of whom is Prof. Louis Agassiz.
