  • Views of Martha's Vineyard: primarily views of Oak Bluffs, also views of Wesleyan Camp Ground, Edgartown, Gay Head, Vineyard Haven; cottages, including some decorated with paper lanterns (annual Illumination day?) and interiors (including J. Allen's at County Park), views of larger homes; Sea View House, Mattakesset Lodge, Katama; Highland House, Baxter House, Vine Cottage; the Plank Walkway, including views of the Pavilion, the Pagoda, from bridge looking southeast, the Pagoda in "Moonlight," bathing tower, the walkway thronged with people, the walkway along the lake and boaters; Union Chapel, Methodist Tabernacle, the Speakers stand and tent covering benches, a view of the congregation at a camp meeting; people on porches, promenading shady streets, bathing in the sea, arriving by steamboat, group with croquet mallets lounging at County Park in front of cottages and a tent, group of men formally posed in front of large tent with sign that reads "Warren"; Neptune Club members of Norwalk, Conn., posing on steps; U. S. Grant and family on porch of cottage or chapel; cliffs and the lighthouse at Gay Head; general view of Edgartown and view of the oldest house there.
  • Steamboat landings at Oak Bluffs and Katama, carriages meeting boats, railroad tracks leading to pier, sailboats at landing; arch marking entrance to Clinton Avenue; the Transfer steamer "Maryland" on beach at Vineyard Haven after having been blown ashore; diorama made up of models of boats and a whale on a sea of oil cloth, part of a series showing a "whaling voyage"; Nancy Luce and her cow in front of house. Some views duplicated.
