  • Views of Salem, Mass. and vicinity: street views including Lafayette St., with a trolley, Chustnut St., children with toy prams and dolls on Winter St., Essex St. from Washington St., Essex street with men on the back of a trolley, Summer St. from Essex, the turnpike including view of toll house and the floating bridge, a residential street; the Market square and building with vendors with wagons and tables, one with socks hanging from a line; views in Salem Commons; churches including Grace (Episcopal), St. Johns (Episcopal), 1st Baptist, 2nd Baptist, Central Baptist, South Church including an interior, Tabernacle Church, Universalist church, an unidentified church and congregation, Roger Williams' church, building identified as church on Witch hill, an unidentified church interior (decorated for Easter?); homes including the residence of John Pickering and a ramshackle colonial structure identified as the Witch house (formerly the home of Roger Williams), with apothecary shop in front of it, a drawing of the old witch house, a drawing of Deliverance Parkman's house; man in a study, woman seated in a chair near a desk; the Normal school, the Classical and High schools, the customs house, couthouses; city hall; Plummer Hall, Salem Atheneum; a commercial building on Essex and Washington including the Five Cents Savings Bank; an unidentified commercial block.
