Boston after the fire of 1872: general and street views showing rubble, ruined buildings, walls left standing, some propped up with lumber, men surveying the damage, window frames, smoke rising, soldiers patrolling, ghostly trolley running down ruined street; streets include Congress, Franklin, Kilby, Milk, Otis, Pearl, Summer, Washington; view of the new post office, the ruins of Trinity Church, a carpet store, Old South Church and the Transcript building. Some views duplicated.
