- Includes: the capitol: a domeless, under construction; cranes on either side of the steps on the east front, laying the last stone, 1867; a distant view from the Smithsonian; the east front with Washington's statue by Greenough; with a carriage waiting at the bottom of the stairs, from East Capitol Square; views from the West Capitol grounds, from the botanical gardens, with conservatory under construction in the foreground; from Maryland Ave., east front of the Senate; views of the statue "Civilization" by Greenough, statues of War and Peace by Persico; interior views: Brumidi's painting in the dome, north room, congressional library; the retiring room of the senate; house and senate chambers; hallways, stairways; ladies parlor; Gen. French's room; Sen. Sumner's reception room; the White House: several views of the south side, one showing men rolling the lawn and gardening, showing the wire fence, showing the fountain; views of the carriage entrance; from treasury department; state dining room; interior of the summer house; views of the Smithsonian "castle"; Treasury building, including one view of columns tied with dark bunting; a half built Washington Monument; post office; the Patent Office, including views of the model room and the "Blue corridor".
