Views of Indians in California, including views of the Modoc War showing the camp at Tule Lake showing tents, Donald McKy and other Warm Springs Indian scouts, One Eyed Dixie and other Modoc squaws; Washo Indians: a group at Lake Tahoe showing man, children and two women with cradleboards, another group "the Chief's Family" showing woman with burdens, including baskets, etc., woman with necklaces, man and boy; Paiute Indians: "Chief's Lodge": showing hut of boards and sticks and baskets in the foreground, "Paiute squaw": woman wearing European dress at work doing laundry on porch of building in the Yosemite Valley, portrait of woman; "Digger" Indians: huts, some with people in front, including one showing baby and basket, group near river in Yosemite, portrait of woman, views include sites in Mendocino and Stanilaus Counties; conical baskets on the edge of Mono Lake; portrait of man: "Cassiano Indian of San Antonio Mission, 133 years old"; Indians of unidentified tribal affiliation in Yosemite, including group of women and children and a bath house (man's legs just visible inside the door); men sitting on a large log, possibly at "Mammoth Trees" labled "a log of bucks"; houses and crude corral, "Temecula Indians."
