Note
  • Title devised by cataloger. Label reads "Dept. of Interior, U. S. Geological Survey of the Territories, Prof. F. V. Hayden, in charge. W. H. Jackson, Photographer, Washington, D. C." Includes several sub-series: "Yellowstone National Park, Hot Springs and Geysers," "Views among the Rocky Mountains of Colorado," and "Views in the Rocky Mountains." Views are published by Anthony and have either letterpress Anthony labels on verso of mounts or E.A. in a circle embossed on views, and in most cases both. Views have numbering and captioning by the publisher. Numbers on publishers captions do not coincide with numbering in negative, which are probably Jackson's negative numbers.
  • Views are numbered (publisher's number first, and where available, number in negative follows in parentheses): 5, 21, 23, 49 (451), 64, 86, 101, 112, 117, 119 (495), 138-140, 144, 145 (690), 148 (646), 158 (664), 160, 162 (668), 166 (676), 174 (692), 192 (716), 194 (718).
