  • The Carnegie-Myrdal Study of the Negro in America, also known as the "Carnegie-Myrdal Research Memoranda" is a comprehensive study of African Americans researched by a team of African-American and white social scientists. The study was sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation in 1939 for the purpose of providing the background for Gunnar Myrdal's book, "An American Dilemma" (New York: Harper & Brother Publisher, 1944).
