Collection consists of promptbooks and other papers of George C. Boniface, George C. Boniface, Jr. and Stella Boniface Weaver; many manuscripts of plays by Joseph Stevens Jones, and his account books, 1839-1867, relating to theatrical production expenses at the Tremont Theatre in Boston, as well as other theaters in Boston and Bangor, Maine; thirty-five promptbooks used by Nathaniel Dexter Jones, and a notebook and diary of his Boston to India voyage, 1857; and business correspondence, photographs and miscellaneous papers of the Jones and Boniface families. |

George C. Boniface (1832-1912) was an American actor. His son George C. Boniface, Jr. (1861-1917) was an actor and theater manager. Joseph Stevens Jones (1811-1877) was a playwright and actor and his son Nathaniel Dexter Jones (1838-1912) was a playwright and theater manager. |
