- Disc 1 (ca. 50 min.). Nina Stroganova speaks with Joan Kramer about her early training and performances including an anecdote about Victor Borga; continuing her training in Paris where she studied with [Lubov Nikolaevna] Egorova and met her future husband, Vladimir Dokoudovsky; Dokoudovsky as her teacher; studying with Olga Preobrazhenskaya [Preobrazhenska︠i︡a]; joining theOpéra-Comique in Paris and performing in London; the circumstances of her joining the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, changing her name [from Nina Rigmor Strøm] to Nina Stroganova, and dancing for the Mordkin Ballet in New York City; Lucia Chase; Mikhail Mordkin; her roles with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo; rejoining the Mordkin Ballet, with Dokoudovsky and his family; joining Chase's new company, Ballet Theatre [now American Ballet Theatre]; leaving Ballet Theatre to join, with her husband, Col. W. de Basil's Ballets russes de Monte Carlo [Ballets russes du Col. W. de Basil]; briefly, Michel Fokine; Anton Dolin; touring for five years in South America with de Basil [ends abruptly but continues on disc 2].

W. de Basil and the filming of Graduation ball; her wedding; meeting Harald Lander and achieving her dream of dancing at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen; her pregnancy and her daughter's birth; more on dancing at the Royal Theatre and the favorable reception she and her husband received; returning to New York and becoming U.S. citizens; her last Swan lake, in 1964; the death of Col. W. de Basil and the eventual dissolution of his company [Ballets russes du Col. W. de Basil]; an anecdote about learning to do 32 fouettés; her friendship with the poet John Masefield; Agnes de Mille; teaching; her memories of Pavlova; choreographers, including her husband, Vladimir [Dokoudovsky]; [after a short gap, recording resumes with Stroganova correcting several mistakes in what she has said previously; also an anecdote about touring; ends abruptly but continues on disc 3].

- Interview with Nina Stroganova conducted by Joan Kramer on Nov. 10, 19, and 24 at Stroganova's home in New York City for the Oral History Project of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. At ca. 80 min. into the recording [the beginning of track 6 on disc 2], Stroganova states that she has been reading from a script that was the basis of a lecture she gave in 1973 and which was later printed in a Danish magazine.
