Erik Bruhn speaks with John Gruen about his retirement from dancing due to his illness; his problems with Carla Fracci's rivalry with Natalia Makarova for Bruhn as a partner; Lucia Chase, in particular her kindness when he had to cancel his performances; the death of Goeran Gentele and his two daughters; his reluctance to speak about certain aspects of his past; his work with the National Ballet of Canada; his ulcer [ends abruptly but continues on streaming file 2].
