John Gruen introduces Marit Gentele Gruson and speaks about the background of the interview; Gruson speaks with Gruen about Erik Bruhn including how impressed she was the first time she saw him, dancing with the Royal Danish Ballet [Kongelige Danske ballet]; his friendship with her [first] husband Goeran Gentele, then director of the Royal Swedish Opera [Kungliga Operan]; the relatively poor state of the Royal Swedish Ballet [Kungliga Baletten] at the time; Bruhn's directorship of the company including both his problems and his successes; Bruhn as a person including his friendship with the Gentele family; the Genteles' car accident [in which Goeran and two of their daughters died] and its aftermath including Bruhn's devoted care of Marit; Bruhn's sterling personal qualities; Goeran's appointment as director of the Metropolitan [Opera] and their time in New York City; her friendship with Bruhn including an anecdote about visiting Tivoli gardens with him; her second marriage; Bruhn's ability to understand other people; his family [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2].
