Svend Kragh-Jacobsen, a Danish ballet critic, speaks with John Gruen about his background and career as a critic; Erik Bruhn as a young boy; his first major role, in Harald Lander's ballet Thorvalden at the Royal Danish Ballet [Kongelige Danske ballet]; Bruhn's personality; his training and some of his teachers; August Bournonville and Bournonville style; Bruhn as a classical dancer; as a character dancer, in Carmen [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2].
