Paul Russell speaks with Walter Terry about his background and his decision to become a dancer; the beginning of his formal training, with Joseph Albano; his first performances, with the Hartford Ballet; studying at the School of American Ballet while dancing with the Garden State Ballet; joining Dance Theatre of Harlem; how he describes himself as a dancer including the classical roles he would like to dance; some of his roles at the company including works by Talley Beatty; how his ethnicity and his personality affect his characterization of a role.
