Gerry Franklin, a psychologist who studied dance at Jacob's Pillow [in Lee, Massachusetts], and Walter Terry discuss the relationships, from a psychological viewpoint, between Ted Shawn and Shawn's mother; with Ruth St. Denis; with women generally; with Barton Mumaw; Franklin's impressions of Shawn at the time he was a student at Jacob's Pillow; Shawn's need for approval; more on his relationship with St. Denis including from an artistic viewpoint [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2].
