- Streaming audio file (approximately 28 minutes). Walter Terry speaks about his book (Great male dancers of the ballet, 1978); Mikhail Baryshnikov, with the occasional assistance of an unidentified interpreter, speaks about dancing in John Butler's Medea including the difficulty of preparing for a modern role; differences between dancing a classical role and a modern role; his interest in a wide variety of dance styles; the continuing evolution of how he dances classical roles like Albrecht; the use of classical steps to express dramatic meaning, for example Albrecht's steps when dancing for the Queen of the Willis; (briefly) several choreographers with whom he has worked; his interest in dancing a ballet about Mozart; his admiration for George Balanchine's ballets.
