Agnes de Mille continues to dictate notes for her book Reprieve: a memoir (1981), describing her recovery following a cerebral hemorrhage including an anecdote about her sister Margaret, a discussion of the brain and memory, and thoughts on her second operation; [beginning at approximately 16:50 minutes in to the streaming file] De Mille dictates several letters, addressed, respectively, to Eunice MacRay, Mrs. John Asbury Eliott, James Bernhard, and Stanley Gilkey [at approximately 28:10 to the end of the streaming audio file, the recording shifts abruptly from De MIlle's dictating of correspondence to her dictating of a description of her surgery, presumably as part of the notes for her book Reprieve: a memoir].
