John Gruen and Peter Martins speak about Erik Bruhn including Bruhn's hospitality to Gruen while he was in Denmark; Martins speaks about Bruhn's influence on the younger generation of dancers, including as compared with that of Rudolf Nureyev; Bruhn's perfectionism; how Martins and his fellow dancers at the Royal Danish Ballet viewed Bruhn when he came to Denmark; Martins' debut at the Royal Danish Ballet, in Frank Schaufuss' work Garden party, with Erik Bruhn; his own relationship at that time with Bruhn including Bruhn's advice regarding Martins' leaving the Royal Danish Ballet; Bruhn's coaching him in Balanchine's ballet Divertimento no. 15; his friendship with Bruhn including his assessment of Bruhn's character; Nureyev, including how he was first viewed by Martins and his peers; how Bruhn and Nureyev behaved in class together [ends abruptly but continues on streaming file 2].
