- The temple scene from the fourth act of Auguste Bournonville's ballet Arcona, premiered at the Royal Theater, Copenhagen, May 7, 1875.
- The scene, taken from Danish history, is set in a wooden Viking temple. Christians and pagans battle as Absalon, the Danish prelate and warrior, stands at center on the pedestal of an overturned idol.
