- Princess Charlotte, at left, wears long white gloves and a white dress, the sides of which she holds with both hands.
- The Duke of Devonshire gazes at her as he dances, holding a two-pointed cocked hat; he is wearing evening attire, with high cravat, waistcoat, and sword at his side. Well-dressed spectators in background, the women seated and the men standing.
