- Lower center, in plate: Israhel v. M. Indoor setting, sunken, tiled floor with draped L-shaped couch embracing two sides. Tall hexagonal platform at center upon which three musicians are playing wind instruments.
- A dozen couples perform a circle dance around the musicians. The women wear dresses with trains and a variety of elaborate head gear. Vignette, upper left, depicts Salome receiving, from an armed guard or soldier, the severed head of John the Baptist on a platter; the body of the prophet is at her feet.
- Vignette, upper right, portrays Salome presenting the head before a couple seated at a table.
