- A short, chubby dancing master, with a book in his coat pocket bearing the title The Lad's a Dunce, partners a tall, oafish student. A somnolent musician, seated at left, accompanies them on the violin. A man sits on a bench at back, his feet forced into a narrow turnout box. Two cats play inside the violinist's case.
