  • A nineteenth century interpretation of dancing in the Middle Ages. A bare room with five men and a woman dancing independently of each other. The woman's gown is form-fitting to the waist, then full to the feet. Her headdress consists of a veil draped over her right arm. The men wear belted tunics, tight hose, and pointed shoes that curl up at the toes. Neighbors watch through the window.
