Recreated music and dance for court banquet performances of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). Based on the Dunhuang cave murals, historical records, pottery, dancing figurines, and classical literature. Includes: Melody for the universe (ensemble music); Lang Tao-sha (Waves clean sand), poem by Liu Yü-xi (female vocal solo); Happy rain the spring night, poem by Du Gong-bu (male vocal solo); Dance fresco: Watching bird and catching cicada, and missing family; Giants' dance (mask dance); Quarreling ducks, and Tiger grinding its teeth (percussion ensemble); Bai Zhu (white ramie) dance; Ta Ge (ensemble dance); farewell music.
