  • 115 photographs, one in color, by Claire Holt, Alfred Hudson, and others of dances, antiquities, people, traditional arts and architecture, and other subjects. The dances represented come from three subgroups of the Batak people: the Karo Batak, the Simalungan Batak, and the Toba Batak. They include the Gana-gana, or Gundala-gundala, Mulih-mulih, Datu (shaman) dances, Huda-huda, Silangkittang (performed by the dancer Tuan Anggi), Hoda-hoda, Horja-horbo, Lotung-lotung, Onda-onda, Paniaran, Sigale-gale, and Tortor raja.
