Summary
Documentary on the women's dances associated with the Bole-maru religious cult of the Pomo Indians of central California. Essie Parrish, a cult leader, heads the dancers and musicians and explains the symbolism of the dances' movements, costumes, and properties, which derive from the cult leaders' dreams or visions. The dances depicted are Chosho wya ko'o, Ka'mots pilili ko'o (star hoop dance), Lame'sa ko'o (attendants' or feast dance), Ayayo kata ko'o (marriage dance), and Ho'dobiy wantera ko'o (war flag dance).
