Summary
Musician Peter Jones recounts his experiences as an accompanist for dance classes and an instructor of music and rhythmic analysis for dancers. Now based at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, he first encountered the dance world at the Naropa Institute, and began to develop his own improvisations for dance class, playing the synthesizer, piano, and drums. He talks about the content of his music classes for dancers, and describes a current project, the recording of audiotapes for modern dance classes.
