- Summary
- Solo dances in the Oudra Nritya tradition of Orissa, performed by Ritha Devi on location at the temple of Surya at Konārka in India. The narration provides a brief description of the temple and its dance sculptures, and their relationship to Hindu dancing. The program includes a danced hymn to the sun god Surya; a storytelling dance based on the myth of Kunti, whose child Karna was fathered by the sun god; and other dances, many introduced by Ritha Devi.
