  • This collection mainly documents the early years of the José Limón Dance Company.
  • The personal correspondence consists of 535 letters, including 196 letters between Pauline and José Limón, 59 letters from Helen Mary Robinson, and 20 letters from Charles Humphrey Woodford. Other correspondents include Rose Covarrubias, Martha Graham, Erick Hawkins, Doris Humphrey, Eleanor King, John Martin, Ruth St. Denis, and Ted Shawn.
  • There are 594 items of professional correspondence. In addition, there are writings and choreographic notes of José Limón, costume sketches of Pauline Limón, Pauline Limón's notebook from the Denishawn Oriental Tour (1925), performance contracts (1946-1957), prints and postcards used by José Limón for his dances, program notes, and dance class rosters and roll books.
  • Legal documents include passports, visas, and José Limón's U.S. Army papers and Certificate of Naturalization. Bills and financial records (1941-1958)
