Lillian Moore, 1911-1967, was a dancer as well as a teacher and writer. She studied ballet under George Balanchine, Alexandra Fedorova-Fokine and others and modern dance under Charles Weidman. After retirement as a dancer in 1954 she began to teach. |

Her papers are arranged into articles, reviews, and typewritten copies of books which Lillian Moore had written, 1947-1964; correspondence to Miss Moore and from her; and assorted newspaper clippings and articles about dancers, choreographers, and dance companies which other people had written. Most of Miss Moore's research centers on the dance from the late 1800's through the 1960's. Types of materials include records, lists, a few photographs and plates, typed manuscripts, hand-written research notes, a diary, pamphlets, brochures, flyers, clippings, programs, journals, and maps. |
