- Excerpts from a performance of Brazilian folk dances and music derived from African culture, including a dance inspired by Candomblé, the religious cult of the Orixas; Capoeira, a combat-dance originally practiced by slaves; Maculelé, a dance play with sticks; and Puxada de Rede, a fishermen's festival dance with fishnets. The Grupo de Dança Folclórica, a company of dancers, singers, and musicians, is maintained by the Serviço Social do Comércio (SESC), a business and trade foundation that provides social services for the city of Salvador.
