Each volume issued in 2 parts; v. 1: 1873-1874; v. 2: 1874.
Volume 1: "Erste Abtheilung" contains contains half title, title page (dated 1873) and pages [VII]-LXIV, [1]- 288; "Zweite Abtheilung" contains additional title page (dated 1874), "Bemerkung zu den Karten" and pages [LXV]-LXIX, [289]-699. Sometimes found bound in 2 physical volumes, with additional title page dated 1874 bound as title page to second part, followed by "Bemerkung zu den Karten" and pages [LXV]-LXIX (contents and lists of illustrations and maps).
Volume 2: "Erste Abteilung" (identificaton on covers only) contains half title, title page and pages [III]-IV, [1]- 467; "Zweite Abtheilung" contains cancel title page and pages [VII]-XV, [469]-962. Sometimes found bound in 2 physical volumes, with cancel title page bound as title page to second part, followed by preliminary pages [VII]-XV (contents and list of illustrations).
The cancel title page issued with the second part of v. 2 corrects "Mit 31 Tafeln ... und 3 lithografirten Karten" " to "Mit 33 Tafeln ... und einer geologischen Kartenskizze" (see Contents, below).

Also credited here are the painters Edmund Wodick, Albert Zimmermann, Moritz Menzinger and Luise Kugler. Color plate "Grönland" after a design by Luise Kugler, drawn from specimens of flowering plants collected on the expedition.
