- The First American Congress of Theatre (FACT) was a four day conference of American theater artists and administrators held in Princeton, New Jersey in June 1974 in order to improve conditions affecting the American theater. Areas of concern included legislation, taxation, the urban environment, foundation and corporate support, audience development, marketing, new technology, the media, encouragement of new plays, and alternative theater.
