- Cassette 1. Mr. Hall discusses his first dance classes; the Bowen-Peters School of Dance; the Educational Center for the Arts; role of ballet training as an influence in his work; various teachers; attending the Center for Creative Youth at Wesleyan University; apprenticing at Connecticut Ballet; studying at the Alvin Ailey School; Lavinia Williams; studying Dunham technique; the development of his choreography; his work, Peace, be still; starting and then disbanding his own company; and joining Dallas Black Dance Theatre.
- Cassette 2. Mr. Hall continues discussing his experiences working with Dallas Black Dance Theatre; Kevin Jeff; teaching dance to troubled teenagers; his company; finding out that he was HIV positive; attending the International Conference for Blacks in Dance; the impact of meeting Katherine Dunham; working in China; and future plans.
