- Former New York City Ballet dancer Pat McBride Lousada discusses her early training at the School of American Ballet; reminisces about Felia Doubrovska's teaching and describes Doubrovska's dancing; offers early impressions of George Balanchine; discusses working with Balanchine in the rehearsal studio; the collaborative nature of Balanchine's choreographic process; discusses working with Jerome Robbins in rehearsal; Balanchine's ability to choreograph to a dancer's movement qualities and strengths; her fondness for Concerto barocco; her wish that more companies in Europe had permission to perform Robbins' ballets; ways in which the training of New York City Ballet dancers might be improved.
