  • Charles Griffes, after 4 years of studying piano and composition in Berlin, Germany, attained the position of Director of Music at the Hackley School for Boys, Tarrytown, N.Y., a position he held from 1907 until his untimely death, at age 36, in 1920.

Biography
Charles Griffes, after 4 years of studying piano and composition in Berlin, Germany, attained the position of Director of Music at the Hackley School for Boys, Tarrytown, N.Y., a position he held from 1907 until his untimely death, at age 36, in 1920.
