Biography (note)
  • George M. Cohan was born into a family of performers. He, with his parents and older sister Josephine were a vaudeville act called the Four Cohans. Little Johnny Jones, which he wrote, composed, directed and performed in, was his first major Broadway success. Originally produced in Oct. 1904, the musical was performed for many years throughout the United States, including a revival in the 1980's.
