  • Authorship uncertain; based upon Charles Dibdin's song, "Mounseer Nong Tong Paw" (1796); perhaps a collaborative effort by John Taylor (1757-1832), William Mulready, William Godwin, and Mary Wollstonecraft [Godwin] Shelley (cf. E. W. Sunstein's "A William Godwin Letter, and Young Mary Godwin's Part in 'Mounseer Nongtongpaw'" in the Keats-Shelley journal, v. 45 (1996), p. 19-22).

Pforzheimer copy 2: Bound first along with the Juvenile Library's Monsieur Tonson (1808) and Little Red Riding-Hood published by Tabart (1808). -- All plates hand-colored. -- Ink dedication dated 1809, partially effaced, on front free endpaper. -- Contemporary quarter calf, drab boards, paper spine label with manuscript titling.
