Note Two different designs sets, one based on flowers, the other on animals.
Summary Designs for female performers in unidentified shows, executed in pencil, watercolors, and silver and gold paint. Includes some fabric swatches. All designs are labelled and signed with Barnes' full name and address.
Designs with flower motif are baskets filled with flowers and large decorated handles overhead; each is numbered and labelled; 3, White roses; 8, Poinsettias; 10, Marigolds; 11, Iris; and 15, Chrysanthemum (red). Some designs have the letter "F" written on the rectos and all have penciled on the versos what is probably an indication of in which part of the unidentified show the costumes were to be used.
Design with animal motif are unnumbered but labelled with name of animal, including cockatoo, giraffe, kangaroo, canary, and galah-cockatoo.
