- Biography
- Robert Baral (1905-1980) was a free-lance writer, journalist, and sometime publicist. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert Baral moved to New York as an adult, and centered his professional activities there for the rest of his life. He wrote primarily about show business, specifically the sketch-based form of musical entertainment known as the revue. Books written by Robert Baral include REVUE: THE GREAT BROADWAY PERIOD and TURN WEST ON 23RD: A TOAST TO NEW YORK'S OLD CHELSEA. He also worked on a book about showman Florenz "Flo" Ziegfeld, which was never completed or published.
