- The bulk of the collection is various drafts of Gibson's unpublished biography, THE SHADOW OF A STAR on the star (Lillian Russell) and the shadow (Dorothy Russell), manuscript letters by Lillian Russell to her sister Susan Westford or her daughter Dorothy, letters to Dororthy primarily from her stepfather Alex Moore and letters from James Gibson to his wife, perhaps Dorothy.
