- Books & Co., (1978 - 1997), a book shop on Manhattan's east side, was envisioned and run by Jeannette Watson, granddaughter to IBM founder Thomas Watson. The store, geared towards literary fiction, poetry, and art books, was known for its comfortable, literary salon atmosphere and its readings, panel discussions, and special events which featured a wide variety of writers and artists.
