  • John Ruskin was a British art critic, writer, lecturer and social commentator. Born on February 8, 1819, he published his first articles in Architectural Magazine under the pseudonym Kataphusin in 1837. He lectured at Oxford University as the Slade Professor of Fine Arts from 1870 to 1879 and from 1883 to 1884.
