Summary
Documentary on the dancer Rudolf Nureyev, including an excerpt from the ballet La sylphide and a full performance of Sir Frederick Ashton's Marguerite and Armand. This version was created for French television and was not theatrically released. It was subsequently expanded to 90 minutes, with footage of additional ballets, and released in cinemas by E.M.I. Films in an English-language version in color, titled I am a dancer (see *MGZIA 4-2631 I am a dancer). This version contains more footage of Nureyev dancing in the studio, possibly in a private lesson, under the tutelage of Hector Zaraspe.
