- Cassette 37, side A (ca. 50 min.). The recording includes Frederic Franklin's comments made in reference to selections from the correspondence files of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Franklin speaks about Ruthanna Boris; the dancer Harriet Toby; Sergei Denham's policy regarding the dancers' billings; the re-use of bodices and tutus; more on Boris; injuries and diet of dancers in the company; an anecdote about Boris, Nina Novak, and Antonia Cobos' work The mute wife; Vitorio Rieti, the composer of the score of George Balanchine's ballet Night shadow, including the circumstances of the ballet's creation; the dancer Tamara Toumanova, including her relationship with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo; her strengths as a dancer. [Ends abruptly.]

The interview was recorded for the Frederic Franklin Oral History Project; the Project is a collaboration between the George Balanchine Foundation and The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
